Spaying/Neutering
Unless you’re planning on breeding your cat, it makes sense to have your kitten neutered.
Female kittens can become pregnant as early as five to six months, so you need to act quickly, especially if they’ll be spending time outdoors. If she isn’t spayed, she will regularly be in heat, attracting other neighbourhood cats and potentially making excessive and loud noise.
Male cats who aren’t neutered mark their territory with urine—including indoors— and also tend to fight with other cats and wander away from home for long periods of time.
Again, your vet will know the best time for your cat to have the operation. The surgery is routine and recovery is quite quick.
